Nuzzle & Nest

Celebrate the season of renewal with a hands-on, heart-centered spring experience at the farm 🌷🐎

As the days grow longer, our horses naturally begin to shed their winter coats—and this event invites you to be part of that beautiful transition. We’ll start by grooming the horses, learning how increased daylight (hello, daylight savings!) signals their bodies to release winter hair and prepare for warmer months. You’ll discover how light affects shedding cycles and why spring grooming is so important for equine comfort and health.

After collecting the soft, fallen mane and coat hair, we’ll turn it into something meaningful: bird nesting balls. These natural fibers are a gift to local birds, helping them build cozy spring nests for their new arrivals. You’ll create your own nesting ball to take home and hang, extending the care you’ve shared with the horses into the surrounding ecosystem.

This gentle, educational event is perfect for anyone who loves animals, nature, and learning how small seasonal changes connect us all. Come slow down, nuzzle the horses and let them nuzzle you, get a little dusty, and be part of the circle of spring renewal. 🌿✨

Participants must be at least 18 years old and able to stand and move safely around the horses.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and are required to wear closed-toe shoes suitable for a farm setting. Dress in layers as it hopefully gets warmer through the day. All grooming tools, equipment and nesting ball will be provided.

TIP: Wear a jacket or sweatshirt that hair is not attracted to. Polar fleece is like velcro and the hair will be difficult to get off before you get back in your car! Might want to bring a lint roller if you do not want to take extra hair home with you!
